Beyond Pastry Studio

Beyond Pastry Studio is known for their epicurean cheesecakes and creative pastries. The pastries menu continues to evolve and there is always something new to try. The display case is small, but it is filled with so many items. You will be tempted to get one of each and bring a box back to the office or home to share. The epicurean cheesecakes and chizutani are a must try. The epicurean cheesecakes are light and creamy. They come in 2 flavors, regular and chocolate. The chizutani is a hybrid of cheesecake and cheese tart. It leans more towards a cheesecake but it's not as dense. My favorite items are the snickerdoodle (cookie), chocolate epicurean cheesecake, and chizutani.

They are in downtown Honolulu between Alii Place and Bourbon Street restaurant. You can park inside Alii Place for a reasonable rate or find metered street parking on Richards Street and walk over to the next block.

Baking For Funsies

Basque cheesecake has become a popular item during the pandemic. After seeing the posts on social media, I gave Baking For Funsies a try. I enjoyed the original flavor but I highly recommend the chocolate. The cheesecake is gooey in the center and not overly sweet. It is rich so portioning the cake out to 6 or 8 pieces would be best. The cheesecakes are sold as a whole and depending on the flavor, it costs between $45-$50.
