Urban Bistro is located near Ala Moana in a new 3-story building called the 808 Center. If you're on Rycroft Street, you have to walk up the steps, and go through the building to see the entrance of the restaurant. The interior and exterior of the restaurant matches with the building's design; very modern. The menu is creative but most of the dishes were under seasoned and some of the food was dry. I felt like the servers ignored us because they would walk by our table and not have eye contact. Our water cups only got filled once during the dinner. It is a new restaurant so I'm sure they are working out their kinks. Our food came out fast and I enjoyed the chicken and pudding and the roasted garlic creme brulee. A small warning, the creme brulee is very garlicky but it is delicious and a must try.
The pricing is reasonable for the amount of food you get. I recommend doing family style so you can try more items on their menu. It's BYOB right now. This is also a no tip restaurant; the tip is included in the price of each dish. It's a cool looking restaurant with a different concept and it's worth trying so if you are in the area, check it out. The parking structure is not open yet so it's street parking only. Since the restaurant is small, make a reservation in advance.
