Legend Seafood Restaurant

Legend Seafood Restaurant is a popular spot for dim sum on the weekends. They are located inside the Chinese Culture Plaza by the river. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and well lit. I recommend getting as many items as you can when the dim sum cart comes by your table because it takes a while for them to come back. The wait staff are really busy trying to service everyone so you need to be patient and it can get noisy.

Overall the food taste good and the prices are reasonable. I'm not sure if they accept reservations for dim sum, but it's best to go 30 minutes before the time you want to eat and pick up a number at the hostess stand. You can park in the Chinese Culture Plaza parking structure (entrance on Maunakea Street) and they will validate. If you don't like dim sum you can order Chinese food from the regular menu. They also have dinner service that starts at 5:30pm.

Silk Road Cafe is located in downtown Honolulu in the former space of CGee's Lunches. They offer Uzbek food. The entrees/plates range from $9-$13 for a reasonable amount of food. They also have sides and desserts for under $5. My favorites are the lamb shish kebabs, pelmeni (dumplings), and medovik (honey cake). They only open for lunch from Monday to Saturdays. You can eat in or do take out.

I recommend going before 12pm on weekdays to beat the lunch crowd. This is a different kind of food for the Hawaii taste but it's good and worth trying. The closest parking lot nearby is at the post office; metered parking.
