Vino Italian Tapas & Wine Bar - CLOSED

Vino is an Italian restaurant inside Restaurant Row. It is located on the South Street Side. They only open for dinner and they are known for their wines. Most of the people dining around me were having a wine tasting. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice. This is a good place to come for a quiet dinner. My favorite dish was the burrata. There aren't many restaurants on the island that make it so I highly recommend ordering this as an appetizer. Some of the pastas needed a little more seasoning and the portions were small. For dessert, the apple tart is the best item on their menu.

I went on the week night and half of the restaurant was full. To be safe, you should make a reservation before coming. You can park inside the restaurant row parking lot and your server will validate your ticket.

Scratch Kitchen & Bake Shop

Scratch Kitchen & Bake Shop is located in Chinatown. They are open for breakfast and lunch. The lunch menu starts at 10:30am. They serve American food but there are also some fusion dishes.  When you walk into the shop, be sure to check out the specials written on the board. The cookies, muffins, and scones are baked fresh so the flavors change daily. My favorites are the milk & cereal pancakes, shrimp po' boy, and the BC burger. The pancakes are great for sharing because they make it thick and the sweeten milk with crunchy cereal makes it taste like a dessert. I highly recommend it on your first visit. They don't accept reservations and most of the tables are set up to seat 2 or 4 people. If you have a big group, you should come early because this place does get busy.

Since they are in Chinatown, parking can be tricky. If you get lucky, there might be street parking in front of the shop. If not, there are paid lots around Chinatown. I would recommend the parking lot in Marin Tower since it's the closest.
