Lin's Hawaiian Snacks

The next time you're at the Ward Entertainment Complex, you might want to swing by here. They're at the corner of the block diagonal from Nordstrom Rack and Office Depot. The shop is big and they have a lot of local snacks. They also have iced drinks, slushies, and shave ice. The most popular items for my friends are the li hing slushie, mango shave ice, and milk tea. If you're a mango lover, I highly recommend the mango shave ice. They are very generous with the mango. Their prices are a little cheaper than Coffee or Tea and they do have a few tables so you can sit there and enjoy your snacks.

Mariposa

If you're shopping at Ala Moana on the weekends and you feel like treating yourself to delicious lunch, this is the place. Their food is really good but it is also very pricey. If you decide to dine here, I highly recommend making reservations 24 hours in advance. If you forget to make reservations and you still want to have lunch here, you can walk in at 11AM. The restaurant starts to get busy around 11:45AM.

Made In Hawaii Foods - CLOSED

The store sells local snacks and they also have mochi. A lot of people know them for their strawberry mochi at the KCC Farmer's Market. Beside strawberry mochi, they also have mochi with other fillings. My favorites are the liliko'i cheesecake and chocolate haupia. If you're undecided on which mochi to get they have assorted packs. The assorted packs have 3 flavors and it's about $7.

I visited the location in town. They are located across from Casablanca. If you can't find street parking, you can park inside. They have 2 parking spaces.

Sunflower Cafe - CLOSED

This is a small restaurant at the beginning of Chinatown. The reason I say small is because the space between the tables and chairs are tight. I just so happen to get a corner table so I couldn't move my chair back for extra space.

I came with family members who are regulars. I let them do all the ordering. We had some dim sum and a few entrees. The food tasted okay. There was nothing there that "wowed" me so I'm probably not going to go back. I saw more people doing take out instead of dine in.
